Daniel Johnson's Monkey & Sloth Hangout is a warm, family-run sanctuary and one of Roatán's most popular stops. You'll see sloths, capuchin and spider monkeys, macaws and parrots up close.
Can you still hold sloths in Roatán? No. Since 2025, Honduras doesn't allow holding sloths, so you'll see them up close instead. It's still one of the best ways to meet Roatán's wildlife.

Your reservation shows your port and the exact steps.
Can't manage the hill? A taxi is $2 per person; tell the driver your private driver is waiting at the gate.
Before you sail: your driver's name and phone number are on your reservation, sent to you before you sail, so you can reach them if you need to. Only go with the person holding a sign with your name.
