Step off the ship onto the welcoming island paradise of Roatán.
Plan and book your private day in Roatán — timed to your ship's port window so you're back an hour or more before all-aboard. Free to plan, before you ever sail.

No more guessing
What fits my port window? What time is my pickup? When do I safely need to be back? Pick your ship and date and we answer all three instantly — you're back at the port an hour or more before all-aboard, every time, by design.
Every time is shown in both clocks, home port time and Roatán time, because your ship keeps one of the two and it is the captain's call which.
Private Roatán shore excursions
Roatán Mangrove Tunnels and East End Culture Villages Tour
Everyone goes west. This goes the other way. The east end is where the island’s history is, and almost no cruise excursion goes there. It is a 45-minute to hour-long drive out through French Harbour, First Bight and Milton Bight, past the little villages, with stops for photos at the flags and the Isery — a pirate boat sitting where you would least expect one. Punta Gorda is the oldest Garifuna community in Honduras. You come down a hill and the whole town opens up below you, then you are weaving through streets of fruit stands and painted shops. At Oak Ridge — the Venice of Roatán, where the houses are built out over the water — you board a local wooden water taxi and go into the mangrove tunnels. Narrow green channels the pirates used to disappear into. It is quiet in there in a way nothing else on this island is. On the way back there is time to stop at the Hole in the Wall, one of the oldest restaurants on the east end — island dishes and tropical drinks, on a dock over the water. Food and drinks are not included and are paid at the restaurant.

Questions cruisers ask
Will I make it back to the ship in time?
Every day is planned so you are back at the port a full hour before all-aboard. We start from your ship's published arrival and all-aboard times, allow about 45 minutes to get off the ship, add the real drive times between stops, and only show you experiences that fit what is left.
Is there a time difference between home port time and Roatán time?
Often, yes — and it catches people out. Your ship keeps one of two clocks, and it is the captain's call which: some ships stay on their home port's time all week, others change their clocks to match each port. Home port time can be one or two hours ahead of Roatán. So we never guess. Everything we show you is in both clocks, home port time and Roatán time, and you are covered whichever one your ship is using.
Is Roatán safe for cruise passengers?
Travel insurer InsureMyTrip studied 52 cruise destinations worldwide in 2025 and placed Roatán third, behind only Dubai and Phuket. Roatán's hospitals rated higher than anywhere else in the study. Roatán is a Bay Island around 40 miles off the Honduran mainland, and on a private day your driver meets you at the pier, stays with you, and brings you back.
What if my ship never makes it to Roatán?
Full refund, every time. Weather, mechanical trouble or an itinerary change — you are never out of pocket for a port you could not reach.
Do I need a passport for Roatán?
Usually not. On a closed-loop cruise that starts and ends at the same US port, US citizens can sail with a state-issued birth certificate and a REAL ID driver's licence. Honduras waives the passport requirement for cruise passengers. We would still bring a passport if you have one, in case you ever need to fly home from a foreign country.
Which port will my ship dock at in Roatán?
Roatán has two cruise terminals — Coxen Hole and Isla Tropicale, formerly Mahogany Bay — and your cruise line decides which you use. Enter your ship and sailing date and we will show you which port you are docking at, with your dock and all-aboard times.
